Product Manager II - Payment Preferences

Amsterdam, Netherlands

About the Role

At Uber, our mission is to revolutionize the way the world moves for the better. As a Product Manager, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, developing products that impact millions of users across 60+ countries everyday. In this role, you will lead a team to build a magical Payment Preferences experience across all of Uber's products, including Rides, Eats, and Grocery, globally. What you will do

As the Product Manager for Payment Preferences, you will shape the strategy for how preferences are handled across Uber's product experiences globally. You will be challenged to create a product that accurately and dynamically predicts user's payments behavior, and to scale this across all checkout experiences on Uber.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving analytical problems and a strong focus on user experience, resulting in innovative interfaces and invisible-to-the-user experiences. This would entail:

  • Defining a long-term vision for Payment Preferences and developing a strategy to execute this vision in collaboration with Engineering, Design, and Data Science teams.
  • Working with product designers and researchers to understand user mental models and expectations across different Uber products, and building products with these considerations.
  • Establishing measurable goals that align with organizational priorities and driving a global, cross-functional team to creatively achieve these goals.
  • Leading with a data-informed mindset to interpret metrics, and qualitative insights to influence your product intuition and decision-making.
  • Scaling your product's adoption by collaborating with various product teams across Uber to ensure a seamless checkout experience for all users.
  • Balancing user needs with business goals to optimize overall success.
  • Effectively communicating with cross-functional stakeholders to understand market nuances and user behaviors in a complex domain like Payments.
  • Clearly articulating product roadmaps, benefits, and results to a diverse audience, including internal partners and leadership teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience delivering successful and innovative products in a fast-paced environment with your fingerprints all over them (at least 3 years of Product Management experience)
  • Technical savviness, such as a degree in computer science, hands-on software engineering experience, or building complex software products side-by-side with engineers. A strong grasp of both high-level concepts and intricate details is essential.
  • Excellent storytelling skills and data-driven decision-making approach, with a mentality of starting with the user first and working backwards
  • The ability to dive into details to understand the sophisticated interactions within a system and how they impact overall performance.
  • Biased toward action, a great collaborator, never hesitates to roll up your sleeves, a master disambiguator/simplifier, and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery
  • A proven track record of positively influencing and partnering with engineering, design, data science, machine learning and business functions.
  • A true passion for Uber's mission, our products, and the company's hybrid technology/operations nature

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building personalization and ranking products, and launching them side-by-side with data science and machine learning teams.
  • Track record of building consumer facing payment experiences
  • Experience laying out and running experiments to assess the effectiveness of releases
  • Stellar design instincts and product intuition coupled with technical systems understanding.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.
