About the Role
Join a dynamic team of product counsel supporting Uber's Delivery business in building the foundational products of Uber Eats. In this as Counsel role, you will primarily support the Merchant and Consumer product teams, as well as the operations teams. While also partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to provide strategic legal advice on innovative consumer and merchant facing products. You will play a critical role in navigating global legal, policy and regulatory strategies, and helping to drive compliant and innovative solutions.

What you'll do
- Lead global legal reviews for consumer and merchant facing products for the Delivery business, evaluating legal risks and advising on mitigations while supporting business objectives.
- Develop/update terms and conditions, terms of service, FAQs, Support pages, disclaimers and policies that govern consumer and merchant products and operations.
- Collaborate with global regional legal teams, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders on legal aspects of global launches.
- Be a trusted advisor and partner to the Delivery business, facilitating the provision of timely, practical and comprehensive legal guidance to advance business priorities while managing legal risk.
- Support regulatory and policy teams in engaging with regulators and partnering with Product on developing compliant approaches to emerging regulations.
- Provide thoughtful, timely, and strategic legal advice to help Uber stay ahead of challenges and opportunities in these fast-paced verticals.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in private practice OR in-house OR 4 years, including +1 year Uber internal.
- J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

- Proven ability to manage complex projects and a track record of building new or improving existing programs or processes, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$187,000 per year - USD$208,000 per year.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year.
