About the Role

As the Procurement Manager, you will lead efforts to optimize our procurement systems, securing high-quality suppliers, products, and services at cost-effective terms. Operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, you will ensure procurement processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

You will oversee the management of business-as-usual (BAU) supplies, ensuring timely availability and cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as Sales and Product teams, you will align strategies and negotiate favorable supplier contracts. Additionally, you will manage a small team of contractors (3-4 people), driving data-informed decisions to meet evolving business needs.

Your Impact in Role:
  1. Data-Driven Operational Excellence: Leverage analytics to optimize procurement processes, evaluate vendor performance, and address inefficiencies to drive continuous improvement and ensure cost-efficient, high-quality outcomes.
  2. Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local and global vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality products and services while adapting to evolving business needs.
  3. Forecasting and Supply Chain Optimization: Accurately forecast future requirements to implement scalable procurement strategies, ensuring a stable and efficient supply chain that meets current and future demands.

The Experience You'll Bring:
  1. Language Skills: Proficiency in Japanese (native or business level) and English (business level), with strong communication skills.
  2. Data-Driven Mindset: Proven ability to leverage data and analytics to develop procurement and operational strategies and evaluate performance effectively
  3. Experience: At least 5 years in procurement, supply chain, operations, or a related field
  4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and SQL. Python skills are a significant plus.
