Uber Shuttle operates as a fixed-route, fixed-schedule service to move more people in fewer vehicles using buses. It offers a safe, reliable and affordable way to move at a fraction of the cost of an UberX.

Operations is all about how we run the business. The High Capacity Vehicles (HCV) Central Operations team builds, scales and optimises how we run Uber Shuttle operations to deliver on our promise to riders, drivers, fleets and clients. The team has global remit and supports markets across 4 regions - APAC, EMEA, LATAM and US&C.

As an Operations Manager in the Central Rider vertical, you are responsible for developing and delivering on the new rider acquisition strategy for Uber Shuttle. You will do this by owning global initiatives that drive awareness and trial across markets, as well as by enabling Regional Operations teams with data, tools and resources to accelerate targeted growth for their markets. To do this well you need to balance marketing prowess with a deep passion for data and analytics. The combination of the two is what allows you to identify trends and insights, and develop practical solutions that take Uber Shuttle to the next level.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Awareness & trial: Drive user awareness and first-trips using owned and non-owned channels that we can scale globally. Iterate on this to drive down cost-per-first trip over time.
  • Operational excellence: Champion operational excellence by building standards, frameworks and spreading knowledge across markets & segments.
  • Growth hacking: Partner with Regional teams to experiment with cost-effective marketing levers and iteratively build up the new rider growth handbook.
  • Early life cycle: Design, build and maintain the new rider lifecycle flows to ensure first time users have a magical experience and come back to take more trips.
  • Problem solve: Partner closely with Regional Ops teams to understand their biggest pain points and find a solution path to solve these problems at scale.

What the Candidate Will Need

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in in a fast pace environment solving for consumer growth.
  • Growth marketing experience using different channels (e.g. digital marketing, performance marketing, SEO/SEM etc).
  • Experience building consumer insights using multiple data sources (e.g. focus groups, surveys, product usage etc.).
  • High proficiency in SQL, designing & analysing A/B experiments and using data to drive actionable insights.
  • Hands on program management experience on complex cross functional initiatives. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, adept at fostering relationships and collaborating across teams.
