About the Role

The Media team is tasked with delivering short and long-term growth in brand metrics, in partnership with the Heads of Marketing and Marketing Managers in each country. As the Media Manager based in Sydney, this role will be responsible for leading the paid media strategy for Uber mobility across Taiwan, Hong Kong, India and South Korea.

In this role, you will own our media agency relationships, ensuring that strategies deliver against brand objectives. This role would suit someone from a paid media background (brand/client or media agency) with a deep understanding of media strategy, best practice planning, application of data and paid media investment.

  • Managing brand media strategy for TW, HK, IN and SK, including planning, activation and measurement for our highest priority brand marketing initiatives.
  • Working closely with the internal marketing lead, data science and agency partners, driving a holistic, integrated media strategy.
  • Acting as the in-house media subject matter expert and working with partners to develop innovative media plans which drive brand impact.
  • Identifying the right objectives, channel mix and investment levels at a campaign level.
  • Leading and supporting key initiatives for the International Media team.
  • Engaging with key media partners and tech platforms to maximise value for Uber.

The Experience you'll Bring

  • 7+ years experience in media strategy and/or media planning roles (in-house or media agency)
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to translate marketing challenges into actionable media recommendations.
  • An understanding of all parts of the media process, such as planning, investment, data strategy and targeting techniques.
  • A strong working knowledge of brand media measurement and in-flight optimisation.
  • The ability to influence and engage stakeholders with effective communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
  • Effective leadership of media agency team(s) to deliver high quality service and media delivery.

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing paid media across multiple countries (preferably in APAC)
  • Flexible, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong bias for action
  • Hands-on use of digital media platforms & channels
  • Positive can-do attitude who can find creative solutions
  • Familiarity with the media landscape in Taiwan, Hong Kong, India and/or South Korea.
