About the Role
Uber is looking to expand the AdOps Data Sharing team within its Performance Marketing group focused on extracting value from our huge quantity of marketing data. This role will be the cornerstone of AdOps Data Sharing team focusing on how to use 1st and 3rd party platforms to build impactful datasets out of our elemental data. This role will put to use your technical skills working with data technologies with a strong ability to understand the business impact of the data.
AdOps is part of the Marketing Technology Operations Team and is focused on the management of Uber's performance marketing campaigns. The team is highly operational, technical, and analytical, responsible for setting up accurate tracking, spend ingestion and data sharing ETLs across all paid marketing ad network channels and campaigns.

A successful candidate is a proactive thinker, flexible with working in an agile and fast-paced environment. You have experience in the performance marketing technology space and have demonstrated the ability to make sense out of large quantities of data and build data pipeline systems to synthesize, simplify, and share data with ad partners. You are comfortable working with various stakeholders such as marketing, engineering and product teams as well as external vendors. You are comfortable proactively identifying new areas of improvements that will help improve the tools, data quality, and reliability as well as effectively manage a backlog. You have strong project management skills and are able to lead strategic projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Support Uber AdOps as a paid marketing tech space specialist.
- Understand marketing event data to participate in suggesting platform improvements and comprehending data complexity to inform better data management.
- Build data sharing pipelines, integrations in an agile manner using 1st party sharing tools and technologies such as Apache Spark, Python, HIVE, and are a SQL expert.
- Identify data sources to optimize data sharing across various partners and audit data quality for campaign success, specifically for incrementality analysis.
- Work closely with product managers, data scientists and engineers to understand gaps in our datasets and propose solutions.
- Mentor a team of marketing data technologists to fully support data sharing space.
- Interface with technical and non technical stakeholders to guide on requirements and solutions in data sharing space.
- Interface with vendor partners to ensure Uber's goals are met.
- Support troubleshooting efforts, showing analytical and problem-solving abilities with a tenacious commitment to finding the root cause of issues.
- Take ownership of projects and showcase key accomplishments working collaboratively and autonomously.
Requirements
- 4 years of work experience in performance marketing tech, data analytics, technical solutions architecture or other technical positions.
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, Advertising, Marketing or other disciplines with demonstrated technical exposure.
- Excellent quantitative skills and comfort with data exploration tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Hive, Spark etc.
- Proficiency with Tableau or other dashboard building tool and JIRA.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Scripting abilities with Python etc.
- Outstanding communication skills, particularly in conveying technical concepts in a manner that is easy for marketers and non-technical partners to understand and vice versa.
- Basic understanding of app and web tracking data for performance marketing.
- LSS or other Project Management qualifications a plus.
