About the Role

The Risk team at Uber builds the foundation which ensures that we manage risk and fraud for all the 60+ markets that Uber operates in. Creating risk management products which handles the risk exposure across payments, riders and eaters incentives and promotion fraud, along with other fraudulent activities such as collusion - these are for the business to deliver their P&L and profitability goals, while continuing to deliver on the 'magical experience' that our users are accustomed to is core to this charter.

The role demands a deep background in product management, product leadership, risk, payments, and the ability to operate in a highly technical environment with strong focus on product and market strategy, collaborate effectively across local compliance teams and manage partners, both internal and external is also required.

What You'll Do

As a GPM of Risk team, employee/candidate will set out the northstar for this area at Uber and define the strategy to realize the vision. Candidate/Employee will be responsible for building out the risk management capabilities across user - both spenders and earners along with merchants, transaction risk management as well as the risk platform and tooling needed for risk operations. Employee/Candidate is also responsible for managing a robust team - growing, mentoring and manage career planning for product managers in the team.

Basic Qualifications

1. Domain expertise in payment and risk. Global risk management experience is a plus.

2. An undergraduate degree or equivalent, a masters degree is preferred

3. 12+ years of overall experience delivering highly successful products across domain.

4. Excellent track record of working with engineering, data, and design teams, with proven examples to prioritize work across the team.

5. Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills with a confirmed ability to influence partners.

6. Proven ability to develop deep customer empathy and articulate customer problems.

7. At least 4 years of experience leading a team of product managers.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Relevant global payments, risk, fintech, experience

2. Running payments and risk or a marketplace is preferred

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$239,000 per year - USD$265,500 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$239,000 per year - USD$265,500 per year.
