About the Role
Uber is seeking a skilled GRC Automation Engineer with a strong background in software engineering to enhance our control assurance testing processes. This role will develop critical assurance control automation to reduce manual testing and increase scale of assurance assessments, including BPO, network, and cloud capabilities. This role is critical in improving the overall efficiency and reliability of risk identification and mitigation efforts.
What the Candidate Will Do
1. Design, develop, and implement automated assurance controls to replace manual testing across critical domains (e.g., BPO, network, and cloud environments).
2. Develop scripts and tools to automate risk assessments, control testing, and monitoring processes.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas where manual assurance activities can be automated.
4. Build and deploy automated systems to detect, assess, and report risks across the organization.
5. Support teams in prioritizing risk remediation by providing timely insights through automated assurance data.
6. Develop automation for control validation in environments like AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-premises networks.
7. Ensure automated controls align with security best practices, frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST), and regulatory requirements.
8. Automate control testing workflows to increase scalability and coverage.
9. Develop and optimize automated assurance dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into risks and control effectiveness.
10. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of assurance metrics to stakeholders.
11. Work with DevOps and security teams to build CI/CD pipelines for automated control validation.
Basic Qualifications
1. Software Development
2. Strong proficiency in backend programming languages like Python, Java, Go, or C#.
3. Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
4. Automation Frameworks
5. Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Robot Framework, or Cypress.
6. APIs and Integration
7. Expertise in working with APIs (REST, SOAP) to integrate data sources and automate workflows.
8. Cloud Platforms
9. Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and services like Lambda Functions, App Engine, or Cloud Run.
10. Testing and Validation
11. Experience in building test automation frameworks and creating test scripts to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
12. Knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Familiarity with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere.
2. Knowledge of security and compliance services offered by cloud providers
