About the Role
The Americas Global Relocation & Immigration Specialist position, located in the US, will be a key member of Uber's GRI team in the Americas. This is a fast-paced role on a highly collaborative, dynamic and growing team looking to deliver efficient and high quality service. This is a crucial role in the administration of operational processes and procedures to help scale GRI programs in the Americas.
What You'll Do:
The Americas GRI Specialist will be the GRI subject matter expert ("SME") responsible for supporting Uber's Americas regional GRI program, immigration and right-to-work compliance and day to day stakeholder support.
- Provide general support to the Americas Immigration Program Manager and Americas GRI Business Partner including:
- Responding to UberHub tickets
- Monitoring and responding to queries on dedicated GRI slack channels
- Delivering training to key regional stakeholders
- Provide coverage and back-up support as needed
- Conduct Office Hours to address inquiries from employees and stakeholders
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders on mobility tax operational processes, authorization lists, invoicing and approvals

Provide support to the Americas Immigration program including, but not limited to:
- Overseeing the PERM resume review process while working with immigration counsel to ensure compliance.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on petitions for review; flag trends in required edits to the case team for implementation.
- Running monthly employee and candidate population reports according to a set of specified parameters using internal tools.
- Serving as signatory for US petitions requiring a wet signature.
- Reviewing proposed communications from the immigration provider prior to distribution to Uber employees.
- Managing case escalations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Running loss of work authorization / international contingency planning program including tracking, communication, and strategy.
- Calling out pain points or areas of contention to immigration program managers and suggesting improvements based on policy intervention or policy revision.
- Assessing immigration impact upon terminations, with and without cause.
- Overseeing vendor execution of outsourceable components of the Labor Market Testing process for PERM and Labor Condition Applications (LCA) including recruitment for PERM and application filing.
LATAM/Canada Specific:
- Overseeing our ratio quota guidance for Mexican and Chilean entities;
- Managing case escalations in collaboration with internal stakeholders;
- LMBP - labor market benefit program renewal process + strategy
- Keeping track of number of Uber-applied LMIAs
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years immigration experience required within Americas
- 3+ year in house global mobility experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as HR, legal or business management)
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of iCIMS, Asana, Workday, Oracle
- Project management experience preferred
- Exceptional listener and communicator; communicate clearly and succinctly
- Flexible team player who thrives in fast paced environments requiring the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle numerous concurrent projects
- Experience creating resources (FAQs, PowerPoint, process flows/procedures) and presenting and training
- Proven high level of customer service to stakeholders
- Innovative problem-solver, a self-starter
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$85,500 per year - USD$95,250 per year.
