About the Role

Uber is reshaping the future of grocery & retail by building the world's leading marketplace for on-demand local commerce. As part of our Global Operations team for Grocery & Retail (GR), you will play a key role in ensuring our merchant partners thrive on the Uber platform.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and scaling analytical solutions, developing robust reporting tools, and delivering actionable insights that empower our merchants and internal stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including Product, Finance, Legal, Tax, Account Management, and Regional Ops-to streamline operations, improve merchant experience, and enhance Uber's offerings.

We're looking for a highly analytical, technically-skilled, and collaborative candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

What You'll Do

  • Scale Reporting Excellence: Design, develop, and maintain best-in-class reporting tools and dashboards to support merchants globally.
  • Automate and Optimize: Build automated solutions to simplify access to insights and reduce manual work, enabling scalable, data-driven decision-making.
  • Enhance Merchant Experience: Continuously improve reporting systems to ensure merchants receive valuable, actionable insights in a seamless and intuitive format.
  • Drive Insightful Analyses: Conduct deep-dive analyses and synthesize complex data into clear, strategic recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with a broad set of stakeholders-Product, Finance, Legal, Support, Policy, and more-to align goals, manage dependencies, and ensure timely execution.
  • Support Product Launches: Ensure new product features and merchant needs are reflected in our data and supported by scalable reporting infrastructure.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation on reporting tools and processes for internal teams and external partners.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering roles.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize for performance across large datasets.
  • Experience with Python, including statistical analysis, data manipulation, and automation workflows.
  • Strong analytical thinking and business judgment, with a proven ability to solve complex problems across teams and product areas.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on scalability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Experience building and maintaining business intelligence systems and reporting tools.
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce, grocery, or retail operations.
  • Familiarity with Python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, and SciPy.
