The APAC Delivery business spans 5 countries and is a key driver of Uber's growth and profitability. As a business, we face an outstanding set of opportunities but also challenges due to regulatory, competitive and economic differences in our region. APAC is one of the most dynamic and varied regions in the world and is set to be a major player in Uber's future growth globally.
This role reports directly to the RGM Delivery, APAC and is part of the APAC leadership team. This team shapes our strategic approach to the region, implements changes and coordinates actions across Operations, Marketing, Support, and our functional teams. The team has recurring responsibilities leading APAC governance, annual planning cycle, quarterly strategy refresh, and our competitive strategy and response.

Additionally, the team runs strategic projects which historically have involved defining new market launch strategy, identifying and scoping new growth opportunities, and tapping into market insights from across the region. The team is uniquely positioned as an incubator for new strategic bets in APAC.
The Director of S&P, APAC, Delivery will have high-visibility with senior leadership and be at-the-table for critical meetings and decisions. They will have to understand the Uber organization, Delivery operating model and P&L well to contribute to broad strategic discussions and have strong leadership and influencing skills.
About the role
The Director of Strategy & Planning, APAC, Delivery will manage a small but high impact team and be a key partner to the Regional General Manager as a facilitator, advisor, creator and executor of strategic initiatives. This person will be at the nexus of information within Delivery internal partners at a global, regional and local level.
Overview of current verticals:
- Strategy: Manage the annual planning process for APAC and drive the strategic thought leadership in the org, informing and influencing strategic priorities, generating business insights, identifying new opportunities for the business and supporting decision making through market and Business intelligence.
- APAC Delivery long term growth: Identify new markets, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities to drive sustainable growth. Monitor evolving delivery trends to ensure the region capitalizes on emerging technologies, consumer behaviors, and regulatory changes, while expanding geographies and strengthening key partnerships.
- Strategic Initiatives: PM implementation of high impact initiatives and projects that cut across multiple verticals and stakeholder sets (including markets, legal, policy as well as central and product teams). Current focus areas include geo expansion and partnership opportunities across APAC to continue to step change our growth in the region. deepening our merchant selection in sparse geos and improving our marketplace supply and reliability.
- Own XFN Relationships: Interface with other cross-functional areas (Business Development, CommOps, Payments, Engineering, Corp Dev) to ensure efficient and productive working relationships
What you will do
- Strategy: Work closely with leadership team and functional teams across the Delivery business to co-create, align and iterate on overall vision & strategy for the business in APAC.
- Planning: PM annual and bi-annual planning while working to build out operational reporting, objectives and key results, projections, and key business metrics to inform the leadership and the entire org of where the business stands.
- Competitive Analysis: Own full lifecycle of competitive data tracking and analysis for APAC, from data vendor procurement and insights generation to understanding of regional and market level competitor strategies
- Governance: Own regional governance, including monthly and quarterly business reviews
- Leadership Events: Plan and organize strategic sessions for leadership events and summits, including session content prep and moderation
- Coach and develop: Work closely with your team to level up their output and maintain a culture of high performance.
- Program/Project Management: Support various projects with programme management support. Be a resourceful, go-getting multitasker, supporting initiatives across the region by working with cross-functional partners.
- Develop Relationships: Collaborate with other functional areas (Engineering, Business Development, People, Product, Legal, Finance, Rides, Retail, Payments, Corp Dev etc.) to ensure efficient and productive working relationships
- Proposition management: Support growth of strategic bets that are being incubated or require strategic leadership and support across the region
What You will Need
- 12+ years of experience in strategy consulting, finance, startups, market intelligence, operations, or other relevant fields, with a proven track record of delivering measurable business impact.
- 8+ years of leadership experience, including managing high-performing teams and guiding cross-functional initiatives.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive clarity.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive, self-starter mindset.
- Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional impact within matrixed organizational structures.
- Deep experience in planning, governance, and organizational effectiveness-from designing processes to executing at scale.
- A strong bias for impact-adaptive, hands-on, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done in dynamic environments.
- Clear and effective communicator, with experience synthesizing complex analysis into actionable insights and structuring narratives to convey ideas persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
