About the Role
As a General Manager, you are responsible for delivering Uber's vision in the Southern Europe (SE) region, which consists of Italy, Greece & Malta, and for ensuring that Uber consistently delivers a great service for Riders, Drivers & Fleets and generates long-term returns to Uber shareholders. Uber has strong growth aspirations for our business in Southern Europe given the massive potential to transform the mobility landscape in the country.
The long-term strategy for SE will include innovating our product offering, leveraging our platform and scale, investing in the success of Fleets and Drivers and delivering outstanding safety initiatives. This will be achieved in a way that remains world-leading at Uber in terms of sustainability, reputation, profitability and compliance.

Uber is a matrixed organization. To deliver your strategy, you will be responsible for leading our Southern Europe Operations and collaborating with central operations and cross-functional leadership teams. This will require you to build close relationships and tight alignment with stakeholders across the organisation, such as the marketing, legal, policy, and communication teams.
The GM will need to partner with government(s), regulators and transport authorities to shape public policy and adapt our business model and strategy accordingly. The future of city infrastructure and planning are integral to Uber's success. In order to maintain business profitably, we must maintain our leadership in operations efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Build, develop and lead a team of experienced and passionate people towards building Uber Mobility and future of cities mobility across SE region
- Set the mission and strategy with your team and oversee the execution
- Work cross-functionally within Uber - collaborate with Policy, Legal, Communications, Marketing, Central Operations, Product & Engineering to communicate priorities and keep focus on execution
- Work with other GMs and your teams to help scale levers and introduce best practices
- Run experiments: we're looking for people who are curious and passionate about solving problems!
- Engage with local regulators and political partners within the mobility ecosystem
What You'll Need
- Min 12-15 years in business management experience in operations, strategy, technology, business development or a similar area - P&L ownership is a plus
- A proven track record of managing managers, leading cultural change, and developing great talent.
- A combination of working in complex matrix organizations and fast-moving, smaller ventures.
- Strong experience in engaging with a range of external stakeholders, such as regulators, politicians, community leaders and journalists.
- Capable of working effectively in bilingual environments (business-level Italian and English).
