Consumer Strategy and Operations Manager

Melbourne, Australia

#Greatmindsdontthinkalike: At Uber, we take pride in our diversity and working environment that sees you as more than just a person that can do the job, but a unique individual that can level up our organization with a perspective only you can offer. Uber provides a truly open culture that encourages all to voice their thoughts.

About The Team:

UberEats is the ANZ market leader in Online Food Delivery. Our vision as the ANZ restaurants team is to reimagine the way restaurants serve their customers. While there are many Aussies and Kiwis that have ordered a meal through us, there are many others who could benefit from our products and services. #GoGetIt embodies the attitude and mentality of Delivery at Uber. We provide the best customer experience possible for our consumers, as well as facilitating growth and earnings for our merchants and drivers.

About the Role:

You will use your analytical mindset to work with consumer operations, merchant, marketing, and finance to bring ANZ Uber Eats' consumer strategy to life. You will have ownership of tracking consumer investment as well as form views on spend efficiency and recommend where additional opportunities for investment exist. You will also take part in key initiatives including data analysis, solution design, and execution.

We are looking for a strong problem solver who is excited to both grapple with strategic questions and to roll-up their sleeves to get stuff done. Consumer engagement is an extremely cross-functional area, so collaboration, communication, and initiative are key to success in the role.

What You'll Do:

  • Budget Oversight: Monitor, manage, and optimise the allocation of the ANZ consumer budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This includes weekly coordination with consumer operations to track performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term planning efforts, including quarterly reviews and annual forecasts, providing insights that shape our strategic direction.
  • Initiative Leadership: Own and drive strategic initiatives that encompass data gathering, in-depth analysis, actionable recommendations, and execution to achieve targeted outcomes.

The experience you'll bring:

  • Robust operational and analytical experience, ideally in tech, management consulting, finance, or consumer growth sectors.
  • Customer Focus: A strong customer-centric mindset paired with a continuous improvement philosophy; experience in consumer businesses is a distinct advantage.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to deconstruct complex, ambiguous problems using structured approaches. Leverage data-driven insights to develop effective solutions.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Experience working with complex data sets, proficient in Excel and Google Sheets (SQL knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory). Capable of deriving insights and verifying findings against real-world observations to formulate well-informed recommendations.
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to take ownership of projects and deliver results. Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, effectively managing stakeholder relationships in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment, and coordinating, planning, and prioritizing tasks across multiple initiatives.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.
