About the role

The Comms team is responsible for telling the Uber story across the platform to a wide range of media and external audiences around the globe.
As a Senior Associate on the Consumer Comms team, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic communication plans to tell Uber's story through a consumer lens. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to bring new products, partnerships, campaigns, owned programming and events to life. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong media relationships, strategic thinking, event execution experience, finger on the pulse insights, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day consumer media relations for Uber's mobility, delivery, and platform businesses.
- Develop and execute strategies for new products, partnerships, campaigns, and initiatives. As part of the Central team, you'll lead this work in the US and partner closely with global leads in those regions.
- Craft clear, compelling and accurate communication plans for upcoming initiatives.
- Coordinate and execute events ranging from large-scale productions to intimate dinners.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists in the consumer space.
- Liaise across internal teams including Marketing, Ops, Product, Legal and more.
Basic Qualifications
- A seasoned professional with 4 years of proven experience in communications, PR and events
- The ideal candidate will have both agency and in-house experience

- 6 years of proven experience in communications, PR and events
- Superb writer: you're able to distill complex ideas into simple but credible messaging.
- Self starter: we're a company of entrepreneurs and want to work with people who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and building things from the bottom up.
- Go-getter: you're used to working calmly under pressure and able to pivot when necessary in a rapidly changing environment.
- Creative thinker: you're able to analyze trends and identify creative ways to make Uber relevant. You can build campaigns from scratch and are able to work cross-functionally to create and amplify ideas.
- Events extraordinaire: you can run a red carpet, know the right photographers and events writers, have a keen eye for event design and elements, and can work a room.
- Team player: you have experience working with others on complex projects to get stuff done. Success at Uber depends on the ability to work cross-functionally and organize around shared goals.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$130,000 per year - USD$144,000 per year.
