This role is a key position in the Centre of Excellence (COE), Uber Manila. We are seeking a Business Excellence Leader who will lead key projects and work streams that are critical to our COE and CommOps success. This leader will focus on analyzing and improving business processes, implementing process reengineering initiatives, and driving continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. The role will require discipline and self-management in coordinating multiple initiatives with competing priorities at the same time to successful completion. You will work closely with the COE leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute action plans that align with our long-term goals and drive significant impact. Experience with continuous improvement/process excellence roles, project management or operations management, and/ or customer experience journey identification and process improvement are preferred qualifications for this position.
What the Candidate Will Do
Process Analysis and Improvement:
- Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement
- Develop and implement process improvement strategies to streamline operations and enhance productivity
- Utilize data-driven methodologies to assess process performance and identify key performance indicators (KPIs)
Business Reengineering:
- Lead business process reengineering initiatives to redesign workflows, eliminate redundancies, and optimize resource utilization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop innovative solutions
- Conduct impact assessments and feasibility studies to support reengineering proposals
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices and implementing lean methodologies
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and make necessary adjustments
- Provide training and support to team members on process improvement tools and techniques
Business Analysis:
- Gather and document business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications
- Conduct gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current and desired states
- Develop and present detailed business cases to support proposed changes and initiatives
Stakeholder Management:
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and support for process improvement initiatives
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input and gain consensus on process changes
Project Management:
- Manage process improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project scope
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress against milestones
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Get it done attitude: You have the ability to deliver outcomes in a short time frame, rising above ambiguity and defining your own path when there are multiple unknowns. You work largely autonomously and have no trouble following through on what you committed
- Strong stakeholder intuition and communication skills: You have a strong ability to work with stakeholders from multi-cultural environments, persuading them with trust and credibility. You have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Structured, analytical thinking and problem solving skills: You are able to quantify business problems in a data-driven way, define intervention plans, and demonstrate measurable outcomes
- Passion for continuous improvement: We constantly welcome change, improving processes to raise standards. You must be always on your toes - finding the next opportunity to improve the way things were, and highly driven to make the change yourself
- Attention to detail: Getting to the root cause of issues and understanding in granular detail the requirements, solution design, defects and levers to influence the metrics
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of minimum experience in program/project management
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- Prior professional experience with optimization, processes, systematic organization, program/project management
- Strong analytical skills, excellent time-management and organizational habits
- Outstanding communication skills. Including public speaking and ability to present effectively in front of peers and senior leadership
- Proficiency in process mapping tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, BPMN)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Certification in process improvement or project management (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) is a plus
- Excellent stakeholder management skills - ability to work in a matrix environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
