Our Strategic Finance team provides comprehensive financial insight into the business through regional and functional business partnering, forecasting and budgets, and pricing and incentives.

About the Role

As part of the Strategic Finance Transformation team, you will help stand up and support the Reporting & Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) to ensure the integrity of our financial data, enhance and scale reporting & analytics capabilities, promote best practices, drive standardizations, and empower decision makers across our different businesses and functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong Strategic Finance/Accounting domain expertise and Data Analytics background, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving. This role requires a professional who can liaise effectively with StratFin and cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights and drive finance projects towards our strategic goals. Additionally, the candidate should have a customer-centric mentality and will always ask how our work is improving the lives of our customers!

What You'll Do

  • Strong proficiency in SQL is a MUST, including the ability to read and write complex SQL queries
  • Serve as a primary liaison / translator between Strategic Finance and technical teams to implement initiatives that drive data stability, integrity, and scalability
  • Act as a subject-matter expert (SME) on Strategic Finance knowledge and Uber Finance data, while continuously promote best practices, provide trainings for rest of the organization, and drive standardization of data & analytics usage across Strategic Finance
  • Leverage SQL and Data Visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) to analyze large datasets, create complex reports, and provide actionable insights
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve data inconsistencies and gaps identified by end-users
  • Build relationships with Strategic Finance teams to gain a deep understanding of current processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvements
  • Communicate effectively and proactively, providing timely updates and following through on issue resolution
  • Solve complex problems by breaking down ambiguous questions into small actionable tasks
  • Work cross functionally to support the vision and product roadmap that transforms Strategic Finance using data and analytics
  • Nice to Have - Experience in Financial Planning systems (Oracle EPBCS, IBM TM1, Anaplan) and Advanced Analytics tools (ML/AI/GenAI)

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS or other relevant subject
  • 2+ years of proven experience
  • Experience with Excel/Google Sheets
  • Prior financial and/or analytical experience including FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or operations

  • Outstanding analytical skills - standard methodologies are second nature, and your models are efficient, scalable, and intuitive
  • Excellent communication and people skills - numbers are key, but a business is built with people
  • Self-starter - you will take initiative, be dedicated, set and drive toward goals
  • Ability to prioritize - we are consistently working on multiple projects at any given time, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and has the ability to optimally multitask
  • Standout colleague - this is a highly collaborative and encouraging team environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with enterprise-level financial planning systems, SQL, and/or statistical software package

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$101,000 per year - USD$112,500 per year.
