About the Role
As a member of the GSS DAS PgM team, you will have the opportunity to drive the analysis behind various operations and product-related decisions @ Uber. You will perform a range of activities demonstrating your analytical thought leadership and will be involved in Program Managing multiple data-driven projects.
---- What You Will Do ----
- Design of KPI tracking systems for complex company-wide metrics across various Uber products and teams globally
- Performing analytical deep dives to drive product/strategy road-map
- Apply expertise in statistical analysis, data mining and visualization to own and deliver end to end analytical solution development
- Translate analytical solution into actionable insights and recommendations for the technical and non-technical audience in a clear, concise and persuasive way
- Maintain and continue to raise the bar for quality/efficiency of analytical solution delivery across the team
- Focus on long term improvements by building, maintaining, and documenting best practices within the team and seek continuous improvement opportunities
- Lead vendor data analysts in project execution
- Multi-hat to drive and deliver analytical and data engineering projects to partner teams across Uber

---- What You Will Need ----
- BA/BS/MS in Physics, Economics, Applied Math, Statistics, Engineering, OR, Computer Science, or any other quantitative field
- Proficient in writing and understanding complex SQL queries
- Strong multi-tasking & project management skills, and a keen sense of prioritization
- Ability to thrive and deliver in an ambiguous environment
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver agreed results on-time
- Good story-telling & articulation skills - ability to convert analytical output into clear, concise, and persuasive insights & recommendations for technical & non-technical audience
- Strong influence and relationship management skills; comfortable interacting across all levels of stakeholders
- A minimum 2+ years' experience in an analytics delivery role
- Understanding of Operations/Product Analytics or relevant business experience and data crunching abilities, including a proven track record of collaborating with multiple cross functional teams to translate business requirements into analytics solutions.
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Programming background and expertise in solving a business problem using at least one of the following languages: Python, R
- Hand-on experience working on full lifecycle of creating and implementing predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques, including data cleaning, feature engineering, model selection, training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Experience with Big Data platforms like Spark, Hadoop, and their ecosystems (Hive, Pig)
- Experience working with large data sets and Hive database with some background in Data Engineering.
- Experience of successfully managing small to medium-scale projects
- Experience working on hypothesis testing, game theory and statistics.
