As the Alcohol Strategy & Operations, Senior Associate, you will play a key role in shaping and executing Uber's Alcohol delivery strategy. You will focus on developing and executing strategic initiatives, working cross-functionally to ensure that Alcohol vertical has a clear, actionable roadmap and to remove executional roadblocks, and developing performance reporting. This role requires a blend of analytical savvy, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to the Manager of Strategy & Operations for Grocery & Retail.

This is a hybrid role - our team collaborates in-person out of our incredible office in NYC or SF on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We encourage our employees to work from our office on additional days if they desire to do so.
What you'll do
- Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning process for Uber's Alcohol Vertical, identifying key growth opportunities and constraints and setting future vision and targets.
- Business Analysis: Conduct deep analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and internal performance data in the Alcohol vertical to inform strategic decisions and provide actionable insights.
- Performance Tracking: Develop metrics and dashboards to track progress on key operational metrics for the Alcohol vertical, translate data into actionable insights that drive business decisions, and lead regular performance reviews with leadership to ensure that the business is on track to achieve its objectives.
- Program Management: Lead strategic initiatives end-to-end to enhance Uber's alcohol-related offerings. This includes managing projects like expanding selection with retail partners, improving ID verification processes, streamlining delivery operations, and launching new programs or features. Ensure these initiatives are well-planned, executed on schedule, and deliver on their targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with a wide range of teams to optimize our alcohol delivery service - including Product, Operations, Growth, Finance, Sales & Partner Management. Ensure all stakeholders are aligned and moving toward our alcohol strategy goals.
Basic qualifications
- Experience: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in strategy, operations, e-commerce, or a related field OR MBA and 3+ years of relevant experience
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience using data-driven insights to influence decision-making. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, and comfort working with large datasets.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and drive operational improvements. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a track record of executing initiatives from planning to results.
- Communication: Effective communicator with the ability to translate data and insights into compelling stories. Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders and leadership.
Preferred qualifications
- Industry Expertise: Experience in the alcohol industry - for example, managing alcohol delivery operations, navigating regulatory compliance in alcohol sales, or building retail partnerships in the BevAlc industry.
- High-Growth Environment: Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (such as a tech company, startup, or consulting) where you've had to adapt quickly, tackle ambiguous problems, and collaborate across teams.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive, ownership mentality with a bias for action. Comfortable working independently when needed, and excited to innovate and continuously improve processes in an evolving space.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
