About the Role
As a software engineer in the networking team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to several essential projects that build a reliable and efficient hybrid-cloud network platform for Uber's rapidly growing global businesses.
The focus area includes
- The automation platform for daily network operations, including fundamental monitoring, troubleshooting, failure analysis, failover, configuration management, traffic engineering, and so forth;
- The observability platform for networking at Uber, frontend and backend
- The network security systems that encrypt Uber's critical data and protect Uber from attacks;
- The comprehensive testing framework for the reliability and risk automatic management of Uber's global network infrastructure;
- The systems and tools that migrate Uber's global and heterogeneous platform to different clouds with the highest reliability, safety, and performance;

It is an opportunity to join several greenfield projects to drive the platform architecture from the ground up and bring a significant impact, both technically and commercially.
What You'll Do
The Network Infrastructure team is responsible for designing/architecting, building, automating, observing and operating the large scale (20,000+ on-prem network devices plus AWS/GCP/OCI Cloud) network hardware and software infrastructure that underpins and enables Uber's business around the world.
We are a team of both Network Engineers and Software Engineers focused on building and scaling the most reliable, performant network infrastructure possible.
Basic Qualifications:
- Recently graduated from a relevant degree (B.Sc, M.Sc) in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficient in one of the following programming languages: REACT, Typescript, Node.js, Go, Python.
- Front end development experience, full stack is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Network infrastructure software system background
- Comfortable working with ambiguity in constantly evolving environment
