Position Summary:
The Actuarial Department at Trupanion is recruiting a Senior Manager focusing on pricing with the ability to work well in a dynamic and complex regulatory environment. The position requires resourceful and creative actuarial capabilities, excellent communication, great leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality and timely work products to both internal and external customers.

This position is open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.
What you will do:
- Manage, lead and develop the actuarial pricing team devoted to various pet insurance product offerings
- Create, implement and review new pricing strategies
- Think creatively and work with limited and emerging data
- Work directly with state regulators to manage rate and rule filings with timely completion
- Foster effective working relationships with key internal business partners across the organization
- Information expert with the ability to understand & translate data into meaningful communications
Experience you have:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (finance, economics, math) or equivalent experience
- Achievement of ACAS or ASA and MAAA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of leading a team.
- Pricing/Rate experience required
- Reserving experience preferred
What you'll bring:
- Expertise in Excel required and experience in SQL and Python preferred
- Demonstrated strong leadership
- Ability to plan, manage and execute projects
- Experience reviewing and managing rate filings and/or regulatory review process
- Ability to develop and apply actuarial models to diverse situations
- Resourcefulness, creativity, and resilience
- Skill at communicating rates and pricing efforts to diverse audiences across the business
- Ability to work with and lead actuaries from a variety of backgrounds, both P&C and/or Health
- Highly driven and motivated to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Compensation:
- The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000, on a full-time schedule.
- Along with base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
- We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion's success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
