Quality Technician – PM Shift

(Entry level with 1-2 years of prior experience)

Who You Are: 

A natural problem solver, creative, energetic, and a true team player! An individual that can inspect glass to ensure a quality product according to company policy.

What You Will Be Doing: 

• Inspects outgoing and returned product for any abnormalities, cracks, chips, etc. and notifies supervisor and Quality Manager immediately of any issues.
• Utilizes a tape measure to ensure product is within the proper specifications.
• Some physical handling of glass will be frequently required.  Training to use a suction cup crane lift for heavy glass will be provided.
• Reads and attaches appropriate labels and tags to product.
• Reports any deviation from the standard required for all glass.
• Follows work instructions by reading labels to expedite the production process; understands and communicates paperwork and labels/picking list.
• Communicates internally and externally on any customer quality issues which arise.
• Control all “A” customers’ goods prior to shipment to ensure the product is compliant with Trulite Standard and customer requirements.
• Daily inspections and audits of product, processes, and equipment. – Look for any unsafe objects, check equipment, etc.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Constantly communicate and work with Quality Manager, who will provide specific and varying duties daily depending on the needs of that day.
• Will train on day shift and then move to night shift. 

Skills You Bring:  

• 1-2 years of experience managing Quality Control/ Operational Standards in manufacturing.
• Experience leading effective behavioral change in the process, procedures, implementations with a functional area to ensure performance and productivity in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create understanding of workflow, employee relations and processes through hands-on experience with production equipment and working with management team. The ability to lift 75 lbs. by yourself, 150 in tandem.
• The ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability to communicate, and to work as part of a team.
• The ability to work in high heat manufacturing facility.
• Working knowledge of plant operations, computers, hoists, and lifts preferred.
• Glass industry experience is a plus.
• Regular and predictable attendance, safe performance of tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job
