POSITION TITLE: Informatics Scientist

LOCATION: Cambridge, MA OR US (remote)

This position reports to our global HQ in Cambridge, MA, and is a remote opportunity. Travel is expected internationally when needed.

Who we are looking for:

As we continue to grow globally, the Informatics team is looking for a proactive and dynamic candidate with a computer science and AI background and expertise in the health / EHR domain, to join as a senior data expert to continue the success of our multidisciplinary team. In this position, the data expert will work on mappings from clinical notes and catalogs to the TNX reference terminology, research tools improve such mappings and assess the data quality of datasets. RWD data from HCO is required to be harmonized into the TriNetX network.

What you will be doing at TriNetX:

  • Apply advanced statistical and AI/ML methods to automate the mapping of clinical concepts to reference standards
  • Prototype tools to enable the use of these methods
  • Participate in creating and maintaining mappings of clinical concepts to reference terminologies
  • Apply advanced AI/ML methods to extract high-value data elements from the text of clinical notes
  • Develop definitions of data quality metrics and prototype tools to collect the necessary data to quantify data quality and visualize the results and trends over time
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable data solutions

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in relevant scientific or professional field
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Expertise with patient clinical data
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large data sets
  • Experience with statistical models
  • Advanced expertise with AI and LLMs
  • Familiarity with clinical terminologies (e.g., ICD, CPT, RxNorm, LOINC, etc.)
  • Previous experience with mapping concepts to standard terminology
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Fluency in English

Bonus points:

  • Experience with scientific research publications
  • Familiarity with data modeling using UML diagrams
