Trimble's Architecture and Design business is seeking an experienced and visionary Product Owner to lead and drive the company's strategy for innovation and commercialization of SketchUp for Web.

As a product leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the SketchUp for Web application portfolio (including SketchUp Free, SketchUp Go, and SketchUp for Schools) by working to translate product strategy into executable work for software development teams. We seek a product owner who can serve as a hands-on contributor to the future of SketchUp

Your week-to-week work will break out across the following activities:
  • Working closely with product and design colleagues to synthesize outcomes from UX research, design sprints, user testing, and development prototypes, to create user stories, design documents, and actionable development tasks.
  • Liaising with software and quality engineers, to refine & prioritize the product backlog.
  • Regular engagement with customers to understand unmet needs and validate that pain points are being addressed by product hypotheses.
  • Collaborating with customer success to develop documentation of new capabilities, and with go-to-market teams to create content for sales enablement and marketing communications.
  • Communicating with the wider SketchUp business, providing updates on progress, and demonstrating new capabilities.
  • Project manage and coordinate product releases throughout early engagement, commercial launch,, and post-launch phases of the development lifecycle.
Skills & experience we are looking for

In assessing your suitability for the role, we'll be looking for evidence of:
  • 2-3 years experience as a product owner or product manager
  • Genuine interest and curiosity in the jobs that professionals need to accomplish when using 3D computer modeling and design software.
  • Working experience with SketchUp in the context of architecture, construction, planning, or other fields related to the built environment, including proficiency with SketchUp's mobile applications.
  • Knowledge and experience leading projects for applications that leverage modern web development architectures (e.g. containerization) and webOS platform capabilities (e.g. ChromeOS, Safari, etc.)
  • Ability to extract insights from customer research and user testing to develop hypotheses about how to deliver value to customers.
  • Experience inventorying jobs to be done, breaking down extensive features into incremental, executable pieces, and writing user stories.
  • The ability to illustrate concepts to convey new ideas or work out complex UX workflows.
  • Comprehension of technical details, and explaining them in an easy-to-understand manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Acumen and drive for developing application experiences that are both functional and aesthetically appealing.
  • Organizational skills, including effective time and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience with web deployment best practices (e.g.feature flags, A/B testing, localization, phased roll-outs, etc).
  • Experience with SaFE (agile) development processes is considered a plus.
