- Experience and expertise in the following technologies is required:
- Ab Initio Platform or similar big-data platforms
- Microsoft .Net and Java technologies
- Good knowledge of Windows and UNIX
- Understanding of SQL and Postgres database technologies
- Understanding of Cloud Technologies
- Kafka experience
- Knowledge of Infrastructure related concerns such has High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and single points of failure.
- In depth knowledge of the SDLC and CI/CD processes and modern software development practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of secure software development practices and an understanding of the related policies including detailed knowledge of the relevant technical implementations that enable secure software development (e.g., authentication, encryption etc.).
- Technical knowledge and understanding of integration including relevant patterns for internal and external facing web services and API's.
- Knowledge of cloud principles and practices (specifically AWS).
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
- At least 8-10 years of experience in software development within the Financial Services industry, across the full application development lifecycle with strong abilities to design and develop complete systems that integrate with the TransUnion databases and services.
- At least 3-5 years of architecture and design experience.
- Very good communications and interpersonal skills mandatory.

Architecture Responsibilities:
Gather and maintain current state inventories across multiple areas of concern. Identify and formulate the long term technology strategy from the vision provided by international architecture, business leadership and technical stakeholders. Technical ownership (in conjunction with the Technology Leads) for TransUnion systems working with product owner and scrum master to develop a system roadmap, providing input and suggestions into the technical projects required to effectively maintain and support applications over time and keep the underlying technologies up to date. Identify and drive strategic initiatives that facilitate the implementation of the target state technical architecture and landscape. Look for opportunities to deliver and progress the technology roadmaps and technical enablers off the back of business demand. Establish architectural focus areas and principles supporting key outcomes required by business such as simplicity, customer centricity and delivery efficiency. Establish and own the architecture and design process enabling key outcomes, quality artefacts and minimizing development risks. Research and understand new and emerging technologies and have a view on how they might impact our business. Understand global TransUnion technologies available to us and how we might leverage them to solve for business problems or make our SDLC process more efficient. Look for opportunities to drive innovation, efficiency and cost effectiveness and architecture, design, and delivery.
Design Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the development of advanced domain specific technology designs and guide their development into a final product. Review the business / technical requirements documentation and conceptual solutions to define the technical solution design and delivery approach. Conduct review sessions of all design artifacts. Provide initial effort estimates with cognizance to developer knowledge and skill sets. Conduct review sessions of SDLC deliverables to ensure delivery alignment of architectural concerns. Provide templates and other sample documentation for use within the teams.
Professional Responsibilities:
Team lead of the architecture and technical design team ensuring appropriate allocation of resources, monitoring delivery and quality. Strong communications skills and interpersonal skills required. Strong stakeholder management skills required. Take responsibility for architecture team's and own research learning and understanding required to keep abreast with new technologies and offerings available.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
