Technical Accounting and M&A Finance Integration

Tradeweb is opening an exciting new role to support technical accounting, M&A accounting and integration and broader finance initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in interesting business acquisition and investing activity, engage in the accounting integration of these acquisitions, facilitate operational integration, and assist in the day-to-day operational accounting of newly acquired businesses during the integration period. The role will involve reviewing monthly close activity for newly acquired businesses during the integration period, evaluating various complex technical accounting issues, supporting the accounting due diligence process, coordinating purchase price allocation processes and assisting in the preparation of 10K/Q disclosures surrounding acquisitions and other non-routine transactions. This role will report into the Director of M&A Accounting and Integration.

This hands-on role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, excited to delve into the specifics of new investment opportunities, and enjoy critically analyzing operational accounting, processes, integration and technical accounting research.

This role will also be available to assist in other accounting/finance transformation efforts in between acquisitions and other ad-hoc accounting/finance projects as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis and documentation of a wide range of complex technical accounting issues including acquisitions/purchase price allocations, investments, revenue recognition, financing transactions, stock-based compensation and executive compensation arrangements, etc.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with corporate development, corporate accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, tax and business finance groups for planning and managing the operational finance and accounting integration of future and recently completed acquisitions.
  • Prepare monthly close journal entries and other close activities to ensure the appropriate consolidation of post-acquisition activity during the integration period.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and managing the accounting due diligence process for acquisitions or investments and assist in overseeing the diligence work carried out by third-party consultants.
  • Review draft transaction agreements, closing statements and flow of funds and prepare post-close journal entries related to the transaction.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the purchase price allocation in accordance with ASC 805.
  • Maintain key SOX controls relating to the integration and reporting of recent acquisitions.
  • Contribute to the Company's broader finance transformation goals and initiatives, aimed at streamlining/automating all process from record to report and continuously enhancing the internal control environment.
  • Actively participate in other special ad hoc projects as they arise.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of total accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in public accounting (Big Four preferred)
  • CPA required
  • Experience in technical accounting research and documentation. Expertise in ASC 805 preferred but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of monthly operational accounting close activities
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Must be detail oriented, with excellent project management skills and a willingness to roll-up your sleeves
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Experience with Oracle, FCCS and Alteryx a plus

  • The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $90,000 to $240,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
