Who were looking for:

TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Quality Inspector to join our team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Perform advanced manual inspection of complex components using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges.
  • Interpret complex 2D engineering drawings with advanced knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Independently determine the appropriate manual inspection methods for new and complex parts.
  • Develop and implement efficient manual inspection processes to reduce part movement and reliance on CMM inspection.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to streamline quality assurance processes.
  • Create maintain detailed inspection reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to ensure vendor and internal compliance with quality standards.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel and other Office tools for data analysis, reporting, and trend monitoring.
  • Proactively communicate inspection findings and collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Operate CMM equipment (e.g., loading parts, running existing programs, interpreting results) as needed. Training will be provided.

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical certification or diploma in Quality Inspection, Manufacturing, or Engineering is preferred. Equivalent work experience with demonstrated expertise in manual inspection and GD&T will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in manual inspection within a precision manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
  • Certifications in quality inspection methods (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) or advanced training in manual or CMM inspection techniques are advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and interpreting complex 2D drawings is required.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including trigonometry, to inspect GD&T dimensions manually.
  • Proven expertise in process improvement and inspection methodology development.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others in advanced manual inspection techniques.

The annual base salary range for this position is $69,300.00 - $112,600.00
