Technology Manager

Toyota's OneTech Digital Supply Chain & Fulfillment Transformation team is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and highly motivated Technology Manager who is an experienced technology leader, who will drive the Product delivery of Vehicle supply chain transformation initiative & projects to enable the North American Vehicle Supply Chain North Star Vision.

This member should demonstrate strong technology leadership, relationship building, and influential communication, be well organized, create Business case, product road maps and oversee all stages of product execution including requirements, design and development ensuring quality deliverables. Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process, liaising with the business product team and end-users.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain & Fulfillment Transformation, the person in this role will support the Vehicle Supply Chain department's objective, accelerate the transformation and adoption of modern & emerging technologies/platforms.

What you'll be doing

  • Technical Leadership: Understand changing business needs and industry best practices. Recommend technology strategies and solutions for the future based on technical and economic feasibility. Understand implications of the business needs and direction, and how that impacts solutions across the portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate and build relationships with users, customers, and management team on future vision, translate vision into quick POVs, solutions, and technical roadmap. Serve as a liaison between Business and OneTech to influence direction and achieve buy in to solutions.
  • Delivery Management: Establish clear priorities, develop robust implementation plans, resource performance, oversee execution of plans, and contribute to team performance against defined objectives, commitments and standards.
  • Pragmatic Solutions: Partner with Enterprise Architecture team to review and analyze major design decisions, ultimately providing recommendations and seeking buy in. Influence other groups within OneTech on technology decisions.
  • Vendor Management: Technical oversight of vendor teams building solutions. Provide guidance on technical solutions, confirm design conformance and viability, perform detailed analysis of vendor resource plans, development schedule, and associated effort & cost estimates. Ensure technical deliverables are in adherence to TMNA Enterprise standards and best practices. Maintain awareness of improvements and lessons learned across portfolio projects and solutions. Ensure kaizen and lessons learned are applied across portfolio, helping suppliers improve.
  • Solution Simplification: Provide leadership to suppliers in systems analysis and design of complex system architectures and multi-platform business processes. Lead regular reviews of the portfolio(s) to identify opportunities for improvement in the areas of Stability, Performance and Complexity Reduction. Identify and report on metrics that quantify the benefit of these improvements.
  • Agile Development: Apply disciplined software development processes, utilizing agile framework (scrum) and leading-edge technologies to engineer and implement automated solutions to business problems. Take the lead on influencing changes and improvements to the processes.
  • Fiscal Discipline: Gain comprehensive understanding of Total Cost of Ownerships (TCO) for existing applications and perform analysis for all technical design decision to fully understand TCO implications, with goal of reducing ongoing product maintenance/core technology costs.

What you bring

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration with IT focus, Management Information Systems, related discipline, or more than 10 years of equivalent work experience
  • Deep knowledge of demonstrated progressive, broad-based IT experience successfully implementing complex IT applications and /or developing effective solutions to diverse and complex business challenges and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience leading end to end Software development and support of business-critical Products/Systems, managing technology solutions, technical staff and vendors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts, influence and persuade the business, and make recommendations to management.
  • Experience implementing and/or supporting business-critical systems where volume performance and uptime reliability are critical.
  • Knowledge and experience with progressive technology solutions including DevOps, Cloud Computing, Intelligent Automation (RPA, ML, NLP, etc.), Micro-Services, ERP, Big Data, Data Science, and Predictive Analytics.
  • Knowledge in managing across a mixed, complex portfolio and technology stack, residing across multiple technology platforms.
  • Experience with modern web technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Node). Proficiency in designing solutions using AWS architecture and services.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with data engineering and ETL processes in Python, as well as AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, SageMaker).
  • Proven ability to lead teams through technical challenges, complex problem-solving, and deliver high-quality products.
  • Experience working with both functional and non-functional requirements, including security, performance, and scalability.

Added bonus if you have

  • Demonstrated experience in large scale transformation projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with Automotive/Parts Supply Chain.
  • AWS/other technical certifications.
