Connected Technologies is a newly formed group within Toyota, focused on delivering industry-leading user experiences and new technologies for our Toyota and Lexus vehicles. We're looking for a passionate and highly motivated Systems Design & Architecture Engineer II for our DCM Engineering Group.

In this role, you will write DCM technical and evaluation specifications and lead any DCM technical discussions with both internal & external teams. You'll be responsible for collaborating with team members while overseeing the end-to-end life of DCM product strategic planning, development, launch, and quality validation/metrics.

We're looking for someone who is 'process improvement' minded to coordinate and drive product improvement initiatives in cross-functional teams while working with partner organizations, division stakeholders, suppliers, and TMC. You'll also work with future-generation product development teams to communicate lessons learned and avoid repeating past issues, as well as support planning future product changes/improvements, including design, development & stakeholder review.

Finally, a successful candidate will conduct quality testing/validation (including joint integration testing) and support launch planning for changes or improved features before releasing to the public. Use your strong written and presentation skills to write/present reports on test results and project statuses, issue RCAs and technical study summaries to executives and other leadership.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the end-to-end customer experience assigned products from vision, development, launch, profitability, and competitiveness to quality assurance and release.
  • Complete project objectives in time to meet vehicle and other milestones in alignment with product launch or other relevant cycles.
  • Deep dive in technical specifications on the product to identify any concerns, and/or to be able to lead the technical discussion with stakeholders.
  • Maintain product backlog for all projects, solve issues with team, set the individual priorities, and ensure overall project delivery that meets the product feature needs for stakeholders.
  • Adapt new technologies, tools, processes from the organization as needed.
  • Cooperation with team members and suppliers.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field; and/or commensurate work experience.
  • Proven experience in telematics and multimedia development.
  • Strong understanding of automotive DCM (Telematics) related hardware and software stacks.
  • Expert on PowerPoint and strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast paced teams with quick decision making.
  • Possess strong technical and product management skills to communicate and drive suppliers.
  • Ability to work closely with design, software, firmware, testing, and manufacturing teams.

Added bonus if you have

  • Master's or higher-level degree preferred.
  • Experience in Infotainment Hardware, Embedded SW and/or Off-board Software Development.
