The primary responsibility of this role is to support (or lead) Module area tasks per SE (Simultaneous Engineering) operations on new model major & minor vehicle development projects.

Reporting to the SPD-SE Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the department's objective to ensure vehicle quality through:

Current model issue investigations, competitor vehicle benchmark activities SE module operation tasks (PE Yokens, CAE analysis, static & dynamic Hinpyo development, 3D/2D drawing reviews & feedback, cross-shop problem resolution, generate manufacturing one-voice) Static & dynamic vehicle quality evaluations Frequent communication and lead 1-voice discussions with all stakeholders as well as project leaders and management

What you'll be doing

  • Plan and lead current and new model issue investigations
  • Lead small engineering teams/stakeholders on accurate data gathering (Genchi Genbutsu) & analysis for problem resolution
  • Lead/support counter measure resolution development
  • Execute SE module core-tasks per SE operating procedures
  • Review 2D/3D data and generate potential issues to communicate / feedback to design
  • Share/review issues/concerns to gain manufacturing one-voice to provide consolidated feedback to design
  • Communicate frequent status updates and practice P-D-C-A (Plan, Do, Check, Act)
  • Identify innovative ideas to build-in quality into drawing development & manufacturing processes

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or Technology degree or 3 to 5 years relevant experience.
  • New Model development (design phase involvement)
  • Production Engineering or Quality Engineering experience
  • Design review (2D/3D data) & feedback experience
  • Ability to work up to 20% overtime when required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% when required

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience working with design and manufacturing groups
  • Minimum 2yrs of Toyota experience including full time, Variable Workforce and Co-op
  • Good understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
  • Static or Dynamic Hinpyo (structure analysis) development experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience related to design and manufacturing product development
  • Toyota Business Process completion through panel
