Who we're looking for:

The TFS Enterprise Platforms team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as a Software Engineering Lead, to help our growing Enterprise platform needs. As a Lead you will be responsible for leading technology-related initiatives within the Dev OPS enterprise platforms. This role entails developing and executing technology.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, implement, and maintain a modern cloud based developer platform.
  • Establish technical standards for development and operations. This includes coding standards, repository management, infrastructure pipelines, and department best practices.
  • POC new technologies and bring in new ideas from the industry.
  • Provide thought leadership in the areas of DevOps, cloud automation, Infrastructure as Code and cloud operations
  • Contribute to the development of a streamlined DevOps team and practice. This includes recruiting efforts, mentorship, and promoting Agile/Scrum best practices.
  • Be the golden standard for our DevOps engineers. This position is key as this position is the most senior engineer on the team.
  • Professional documentation of design and best practices. ADRs, repo documentation, Confluence, etc.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Proven experience in software development with a solid technical foundation with relevant experience in one more of the software tech stacks: Such as Java and Spring boot / Micronaut, JavaScript & NodeJS, Python and Flask / FastAPI.
  • Leadership in areas of DevOps, cloud automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing scalable software applications and platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise and grasp in various software architecture patterns with experience in designing and implementing cloud native technology solutions.
  • Proven track record of delivering scalable cloud native solutions addressing cross cutting concerns like logging, application testing and application security and instrumentation by utilizing Cloud tools such as AWS tools and services.
  • Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns & architecture, operations and software engineering.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and leading presentations with non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities.

Added bonus if you have

  • Master's degree in computer science or a master's degree in software engineering
  • Experience with working with API and/or real-time platforms and services at enterprise scale
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with distributed database systems (Cassandra, ElasticSearch)
  • Experience with deploying GraphQL infrastructure
  • Experience with managing kafka infrastructure
