Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of IVS, the person in this role will support the IVS department's objective.

What you'll be doing

Control Systems Engineering:

  • Design, implement, and optimize control algorithms using C/C++ for advanced ADAS features.
  • Utilize an iterative process to rigorously calibrate and tune these control systems through Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and in-vehicle testing to ensure robust real-world performance.

Requirements & Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain detailed system and functional requirements, along with comprehensive software specifications, to guide ADAS integration into vehicle platforms and facilitate testing.
  • Produce clear engineering documentation and published specifications for development, ensuring alignment with project goals, regulatory standards, and internal processes.

Innovation & Performance Enhancement:

  • Develop data-driven proposals for new ADS and ADAS features and support these innovations with comprehensive software implementations.
  • Continuously enhance system performance through agile, iterative processes that incorporate data analysis, predictive simulation, bench testing, and in-vehicle validation.

Simulation & Automated Testing:

  • Develop and maintain simulation environments (HIL/SIL) integrated with automated testing tools.
  • Analyze quantitative data to monitor performance indicators and support data-driven decision-making.

Hands-on Vehicle Testing:

  • Drive prototype vehicles in simulated settings, on closed tracks, and on public roads to validate system performance and safety.

Project Management & Collaboration:

  • Plan, execute, and monitor project timelines to ensure goal achievement.
  • Engage with stakeholders-including executive leadership and international teams (e.g., Japanese counterparts)-to align global activities and drive consensus building.

Customer-Driven Innovation:

  • Identify customer needs through data-driven assessments of technology, market, and social trends.
  • Propose and develop innovative ADAS features tailored for North American markets and facilitate their integration into vehicle platforms, including the creation of detailed engineering specifications for vendors.

Process Improvement & Mentorship:

  • Identify gaps in current processes and implement sustainable, standardized improvements.
  • Mentor junior team members in best practices for software engineering and ADAS development.
