Who we're looking for

Toyota's Environmental & Facilities Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage cost for construction projects (expansions, renovations, greenfield, etc.) at North American production plants and other facilities.

Reporting to the Manager - Environmental & Facilities Engineering, the person in this role will support the Plant & Environmental Engineering department's objective to provide cost control for project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to cost KPIs for North American manufacturing plants.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating, analyzing, and forecasting capital and operating budgets.
  • Tracking labor hours, supplier invoices and actual costs.
  • Analyzing financial data, variances, and forecasted expenses, allocating costs to projects and project categories.
  • Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing plants in the areas of cost control.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for cost, budget and technical assist hours as technical support for project managers.
  • Provide experience in cost control to ensure projects are designed and built to cost KPIs.
  • Mentor engineers, construction coordinators, and other project personnel to increase their skillset in cost tracking and control.
  • Create Customer Satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or Accounting or 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cost management
  • 5+ years of experience in budget management and tracking
  • Intermediate level experience of SAP
  • Intermediate level experience of Ariba

What you may bring

  • 5+ years of experience with budget approval (ringi) systems
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial construction cost tracking
