The Advanced Product Strategy (APS) team is looking for a Senior Analyst Concept Planning that will be responsible for developing concept vehicle and/or future mobility proposals that will allow Toyota and Lexus to showcase new styling and technology that we imagine may address future trends and customer needs.

APS is also in charge of developing a customer-centric full-line product portfolio that will allow TMNA (Toyota Motor North America) to meet our sales and compliance objectives in the future.

We are looking for the next APS rockstar to join our team. This planner should bring an energetic, inquisitive, and resilient mindset towards deeply understanding customer needs and future trends.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support product concept development for future Toyota and Lexus models. This role may also support future Mobility concept development.
  • Develop a clear understanding of target customers through research and analysis, report development and presentations
  • Develop and deliver compelling and creative presentations for TMC (Toyota Motor Corporation) and TMNA executives in support of product concepts
  • Lead weekly concept planning video conferences with Japanese parent company, TMC, and manage working relationship with Toyota/Lexus Planning Division counterparts (outside of typical business hours)
  • Support product portfolio projects from a holistic perspective across models and brands and with consideration for global alignment that will have measurable impact on company progress
  • Conduct price/volume analysis, clarifying market potential, impact to product lineup, and business feasibility of new product concepts
  • Perform detailed quantitative analyses using mTAB, PAI CSQ, PIN, Polk and other available resources to support strategic recommendations
  • Work closely with Calty and/or TMC design during concept development to ensure concept design aligns with target customer
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Enterprise Strategy, Product Planning, Consumer Insights, Finance, Engineering, and Sales/Marketing, etc.) on development of strong business cases for future products

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher), or equivalent professional work experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Strong analytical skills in excel with fluency in research/data query set-up, analysis
  • Strong presentation skills and experience with graphic storytelling with data
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Recent and extensive experience serving as the subject matter expert targeting customers through research and analysis, report development, and presentations
  • Recent and extensive experience serving as the primary resource identifying, proposing, and leading new strategies/initiatives that are critical to customer values, needs, and future market trends
  • Experience collaborating on cross-departmental projects where the results are usually visible/impactful at a global level
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (advanced), Teams, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, domestically and abroad.

Added Bonus If You Have

  • Experience in product planning and/or pricing
  • Experience with electrified vehicles
  • Experience in non-vehicle mobility (e.g. micromobility)
  • Understanding of vehicle mechanics
  • Experience providing significant influence upon the structure and development of quantitative analytical tools (Tableau, Power BI and others) and presentations
  • MBA or other advanced degree
