Who we're looking for

Toyota North America Paint Production Engineering is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Seibi Technician Paint.

The primary responsibility of this role is to Program Paint and Plastic Robots to meet Toyota and Lexus Quality standards.

Reporting to the Paint Production Engineering Seibi Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint department's objective to create the highest quality at the lowest cost.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop Offline simulations / Online programming using Carrot 3 and Catia software.
  • Field robots programming for Paint process: Topcoat, UBC, RDS, Sealer, and follow-up quality trials.
  • Support new model introductions, including robot's modifications, process jigs, etc.
  • Lead competitiveness improvement projects for local production shop, create & manage Schedules.
  • Negotiate scope of work and define roles/responsibilities within the project, communicate with Pilot Members, Group Leaders, Engineers and other Paint Seibi Techs.
  • Resolve problems using analysis tools, troubleshooting to find root cause.

What you bring

  • 3 + years of Toyota Production, Maintenance or Engineering experience
  • 2 + years with Kawasaki/Yasakawa/Fanuc Robot programming experience
  • Knowledge of Toyota Quality Standards
  • Intermediate level to use Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel national / internationally 50% of the time
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Added bonus if you have

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • 2 + years of paint Seibi experience
  • PLC programming experience
  • Digital engineering experience
  • Simulation software experience
  • Paint Automotive experience
  • Able to communicate across multiple platforms
