Who we're looking for

Toyota's Production Engineering [PE] Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering [VME] Battery Pack Assembly group is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Seibi Technician.

The primary responsibility of this role will support the PE VME Battery Pack Assembly group's objective to implement new product launches across North America Manufacturing Companies [NAMCs].

Reporting to the Battery Pack Assembly Seibi Manager, the person in this role will support the PE VME Battery Pack Assembly group's objective to implement new model product launches across North America, through supporting production equipment development, installation and confirmation.

What you'll be doing

  • Support Battery Pack Assembly equipment development with NAMCs & Global teams
  • Support equipment specification development to confirm standards compliance
  • Support equipment machine risk assessment development to confirm equipment safety
  • Complete Seibi equipment checks for Safety, Electrical & Mechanical design confirmations
  • Confirm equipment, conveyor & logistics hardware individual & zone safety interlocks
  • Support Seibi equipment confirmations at vendor buy-off trials & larger zone trials
  • Support equipment tuning, adjustment & countermeasures to meet Safety, Quality & Productivity requirements during set-up and production trials
  • Engage in travel (or dispatch) to vendors & NAMCs in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Japan and possibly other international locations.

What you bring

  • 2 Year Associates degree in technical field, completion of a trades school, or 7 years relevant technical experience
  • 2 Years Experience with Production Equipment procurement, installation and/or confirmation
  • 2 Years Experience with PLC programming for Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron or Siemens
  • 2 Years Experience with Kawasaki or Fanuc Industrial Robots for Part Transfer or Auto-Tightening applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and across multiple shifts to support tooling modification and installation projects
  • Abilities & willingness to work 25% overtime, including 12-hours shifts, weekend work and shutdown/ holiday support.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as needed to support project work
  • Ability & willingness to travel up to 50% at peak times, both domestically & internationally

What you may bring

  • 2 Years Toyota Maintenance experience
  • 2 Years experience with Assembly, Body, Paint or Powertrain Seibi equipment confirmation activity
  • Knowledge of safety scanner setup and programming
  • 2 Years Experience with vision systems setup and integration
  • Toyota PE Seibi experience.
  • Experience with AMRs, AGVs, AGV Traffic Control
