Who we're looking for

Toyota's Financial Services is looking for highly motivated Retail Accounting Analyst to support the Accounting department.

Reporting into the Accounting Supervisor - Retail & TCPR Accounting, you will have the opportunity to work with various departments across the organization to understand how the business impacts the financial results. With this knowledge, they will prepare month end journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly schedules for the Treasury and Finance departments, quarterly schedules for the Tax department, Japan, SEC reporting, and assist with PwC audit requests. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a lively and fun team culture, create & contribute to kaizen opportunities, and assist with new project and system implementations.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform accounting activities and the month-end close process which includes:
    • Review and reconcile month-end data reports for respective journal entries.
    • Evaluate accuracy and reasonableness of financial information provided by business partners.
    • Perform month end closing activities, including the preparation and recording of all associated journal entries.
    • Ensure balances reflected in the financial statements are accurate.
  • Support monthly account reconciliations
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year reporting schedules for Treasury, Finance, Tax, Japan, and SEC reporting.
  • Independently prepare and respond to various ad-hoc requests from internal departments, timely and accurately.
  • Support business unit projects/initiatives by providing subject-matter-expertise for overall business process, internal controls and accounting, and reporting issues while meeting all objective due dates.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes without impairing controls.
  • Propose recommendations to management and independently coordinate implementation of changes approved by leadership.
  • Lead and/or support special projects.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to strengthen and/or streamline existing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and implement advanced usages of new technology.
  • Recommend process improvements and/or changes in accounting treatment as appropriate.

What you bring

  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar degree; OR equivalent professional experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar accounting/finance environment requiring management of multiple simultaneous, competing priorities.
  • Strong accounting understanding and expertise.
  • Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and ability to take initiative.
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and software tools.

Added bonus if you have

  • Certified Public Accountant License.
  • Experience working with ERP application. SAP preferred.
  • Public accounting experience with national firm.
