The primary responsibility of this role is to lead/manage the development and operations of the Toyota consumer facing eCommerce applications to provide our customers the ultimate user experience.

Reporting to the IT Product Development Senior Manager, the person in this role will lead and manage the development and optimization of our eCommerce platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring that the platforms exceed customer needs, perform efficiently, and drives revenue growth. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, business acumen, and exceptional project management skills to coordinate teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver results.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain the eCommerce product strategy and roadmap in partnership with the business division and architecture/platform/engineering teams, aligning with business goals, market trends, and customer expectations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including architecture/platform/engineering, design/development, marketing, and sales to ensure product alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to IT product owners to inspire the ultimate user experience.
  • Manage direct reports by aligning their goals and objectives to meet the planned roadmap outcomes.
  • Ensure the team is following the Toyota Agile delivery processes.
  • Monitor and manage the development quality and provide vendor management direction when needed.
  • Provide inspiration daily to motivate and inspire the entire team and remove any impediments.
  • Maintain a culture of innovation always challenging what's possible to exceed our customer's expectations.
  • Serve as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring that product requirements are well understood, and technical solutions are feasible. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the platform's scalability, security, and performance.
  • Utilize customer feedback, analytics, and market research to prioritize features and improvements that drive user engagement, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance the e-commerce experience and internal processes.

What you bring

  • Passion for creating exceptional customer experiences and optimizing the buyer's journey.
  • Strong experience managing eCommerce platform operations with all aspects of eCommerce: conversion rates, site performance, site availability, SEO, SEM, customer journey optimization etc.
  • Advanced experience with eCommerce site designs and operations.
  • Expert knowledge managing multiple product owners and providing direct report leadership.
  • Ability to create and maintain product strategy and roadmaps for the eCommerce platform.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams utilizing an agile delivery framework.
  • Familiarity with web technologies, e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce), content management systems (CMS), and experience with APIs, databases, and cloud solutions.

Added bonus if you have

  • Familiar with Adobe eCommerce and Adobe AEM a plus.
  • Experience in optimizing conversion rates, A/B testing, SEO best practices, and integration with third-party tools (e.g., payment gateways, CRM systems).
  • Automotive parts data experience a plus.
  • Experience working with automotive dealerships a plus.
  • eCommerce search optimization experience a plus.
