Who we're looking for

Toyota Motor North America Lexus Eastern Area office is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Field Technical Specialist.

The primary responsibility of this role is to promote customer satisfaction by providing direct "hands-on" support and assistance to dealers and technicians in diagnosing and resolving customer technical concerns. The position promotes the quick resolution of product problems and support future product improvements through timely and accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of technical concerns. This position maximizes the customer ownership experience, future product sales, departmental goals and profitability of the dealer and Lexus. Additionally, a key component of this role includes an ability to impact change and help drive desired workplace culture and ensure customer engagement and loyalty.

Reporting to the Technical Services & Customer First Manager, the person in this role will support the Lexus Eastern Area's objective to provide industry leading dealer hands on technical support by managing available resources and implementing processes for which results can be recognized. Prioritizing customer satisfaction and brand loyalty, the FTS works to guide the dealership in consistent repair procedures set forth in our Fix It Right The First Time (FIRTFT) protocol ensuring proper repairs are executed. FTS is the in-market liaison for Lexus when there are requests for technical support.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide highly skilled consulting and hands on diagnostics to Lexus dealer service personnel.
  • Communication with dealership personnel to address customer satisfaction opportunities.
  • Administer and guide dealership personnel regarding business operations.
  • Administer programs for which Lexus repair and safety procedures exist along with Warranty procedures.
  • Assist with National Center for Dispute Settlement and Legal requests for technical assistance.
  • Manage and monitor technical communications between Lexus and the dealerships.
  • Collaborate and assist with Area team members to address technical needs.
  • Support dealership retention and recruiting of technicians.
  • Provide timely and effective feedback on product quality through internal reporting.

What you bring

  • Associate´s or equivalent certificate degree (or higher), or extensive experience in automotive operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of automotive diagnostic methods and procedures: intermediate.
  • Technical diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands on technical experience.
  • Ability to coach and train dealership personnel.
  • Automotive dealership operational experience at dealer and/or manufacturer.
  • Certifications from any manufacturer program.
  • ASE Master Technician certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

The annual base salary range for this position is $103,800.00 - $168,700.00
