TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Engineer, Team, and Vehicle Support.

This position is in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for TRD-supported NASCAR race teams.
  • Provide daily communication and consultation with race teams as requested.
  • Provide Drive in Loop (DIL) and simulation support.
  • Provide race strategy support for TRD-supported teams focusing on:
    • Run preliminary simulation packages and develop projected strategies for races.
    • Manage race strategy databases including fuel strategy programs.
    • Manage and distribute updates to simulation files (executables, drive files, sim utils, etc.)
    • Handle the team's questions and feedback, and direct them to the appropriate parties for resolution
    • Weekly post-race strategy summary/evaluation.
  • Manage parts measurement, documentation, and updates to TRD database.
  • Ensure staff professionally represent TRD to the race teams and drivers.

A successful candidate will have:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or relative work experience.
  • Experience using simulation tools for analysis of race vehicle dynamics.
  • Proficient in MS office, Data analysis tool, Simulation tool

A successful candidate may have:

  • Direct experience working with a race team in an engineering role.
  • Strong positive reputation in the professional motorsports industry
  • Strong understanding of typical race team processes and functions (incl. race strategy, team organization, team logistics and policies, and race weekend process)
  • Direct experience using simulation tools for oval racing in a premier series.
  • Direct experience at actual track support during events.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel to some NASCAR Cup races and some tests.
