The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement equipment to support future model battery pack production lines.

Reporting to the Battery Pack Planning Manager, the person in this role will support the Battery Pack production engineering department's objective to develop new or modify existing equipment to facilitate new model launch and support manufacturing production changes.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead equipment development process with Site Teams and Global Teams
  • Developing equipment specifications for vendor development
  • Developing and confirming AMR, Industrial Robot, and team member interactions
  • Monitoring and tracking equipment design, fabrication, and confirmation
  • Lead equipment installation planning and specifications for NA Production Sites
  • Lead equipment installation and confirmation at NA Production Sites
  • Develop equipment countermeasures during set up/trials
  • Engage in travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, Mexico. Commonly work overtime, including weekends and holidays

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or 2 years of automotive manufacturing work experience
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and across multiple shifts to support tooling modification and installation projects
  • Abilities & willingness to work 25% overtime, including 12-hours shifts, weekend work and shutdown/ holiday support.
  • Ability & willingness to travel 75%, domestically and internationally
  • Experience with Writing Equipment Specifications
  • Experience with Production Equipment installation or confirmation
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Autodesk
  • Proficiency with MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word

What you may bring

  • Past Work Experience in Toyota PE Assembly, Body Weld, or Powertrain
  • Experience in Logistic Equipment implementation
  • Experience with Robotics Controls Automation
  • Experience with SolidWorks and / or Catia
  • Experience in Project Management
  • OSHA 10 certification
