This position is an onsite role based in Plano, TX
Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a Network Engineering Director to lead the transformation of our network infrastructure to a cloud-native model. You'll own the design, implementation, and support of TFS's network across cloud and on-premises environments, leading a team focused on key areas like network automation, cloud networking, core network engineering, network security, and application networking. You will define the network technology vision, set standards, and guide solution implementation. This role involves leading complex projects, managing multiple initiatives, and regularly interacting with senior leadership. Reports to the Head of Cloud Engineering.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leadership & Vision (40%):
- Define and champion the network technology vision for TFS.
- Foster a DevOps culture within the team, driving automation and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of network engineers.
- Partner with leadership to align network strategy with business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance TFS's network capabilities.
Technical Ownership (60%):
- Oversee the architecture, design, scaling, and implementation of enterprise network infrastructure projects.
- Manage the lifecycle of network hardware and software assets, making strategic decisions on solutions.
- Review and approve project designs and changes, ensuring alignment with standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations leadership to resolve complex network issues.
- Develop and implement network infrastructure standards and procedures.
- Ensure the continuous integrity, availability, and performance of the TFS network.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts and proposals to leadership.
What You Bring:
- Deep understanding of networking, network security, and cloud technologies.
- Proven track record of progressive growth in network engineering roles, including both individual contribution and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of technical architecture components.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and software delivery practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management concepts.
- Understanding of cloud computing, serverless technologies, storage, databases, and application development.
- Solid project management skills.
- Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Expertise in cloud networking (VPC design, connectivity).
- Hands-on experience with core network technologies (switching, routing, wireless).
- Knowledge of network security best practices (firewalls, WAF, remote access).
- Experience with application networking (load balancing, DNS, PKI).
