Who we're looking for

Toyota's North Carolina Battery Plant Manufacturing Department seeks a passionate and highly motivated Continuous Improvement Analyst, Manufacturing.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Continuous Improvement Senior Manager and maintain the standards of an organization's talent by providing comprehensive training at the start of employment and as needed throughout the job. The Continuous Improvement Analyst will also lead and manage initiatives to enhance the manufacturing process stability by developing projects focusing on Stable takt, line speed, and line balance changes.

Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the executives and department heads to determine areas for employee improvement, develop training courses for new and existing employees, and establish methods to track employee performance after the completion of training.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the leadership team in setting and achieving goals utilizing Lean initiatives. This includes working with key leadership both functionally and strategically to drive overall improvements in specific areas.
  • Lead the development and process of methods and systems for measuring to ensure that project goals, objectives, and metrics are being met and maintained.
  • Lead staff training and recommends opportunities to strengthen internal control structure and work processes which impact compliance, privacy, and security.
  • Lead the implementation of Lean programs from inception to completion.
  • Manage the planning, facilitation, and completion of Lean projects to support cost reduction.
  • Lead manufacturing investigations, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implementing process improvements, Change Controls, and Safety Improvements.
  • Plan the relocation of process equipment that aids improvement.
  • Identifies and finds solutions for safety and ergonomic problems.
  • Leads optimization changes to the assembly process method changes.
  • Leads special and self-initiated projects for continuous improvement, structure planning, and other series-related projects.
  • Provides specialized technical guidance and support to assigned areas.
  • Provides training and process improvement activities/projects for production associates utilizing responsible systems/processes.
  • Assists with analysis of process or systems failures hindering production areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What you bring

  • BA/BS degree in an engineering/manufacturing discipline or five years of related professional experience.
  • Strong communication & visualization skills.
  • Ability to create and execute strategic direction.
  • Experience as Project Lead for major model changes or new model launches.
  • Technical problem-solving ability.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills to prioritize, delegate tasks and set goals for productivity.
  • Ability to mentor Group leaders and Team Members.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to inspire and engage learners.
  • High empathy skills, understanding of effective teaching methodologies, and the willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in teaching.
  • Advanced ability to clearly understand and communicate complex ideas and concepts.
  • Experienced with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing processes.
