Who we're looking for

The Advanced Product Strategy (APS) team is responsible for developing concept car proposals that will allow Toyota and Lexus to showcase new styling and technology that we imagine may address future customer needs. APS is also in charge of developing a

customer centric full line product portfolio that will allow TMNA to meet our sales and compliance objectives in the future. This manager should bring an energetic, inquisitive and resilient mindset towards deeply understanding customer needs and future trends.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage planner assignments and overall program schedules
  • Support and grow Advanced Planning Strategy team members
  • Provide continuous updates to Sr. Management on all key projects
  • Develop a clear understanding of target customers through research and analysis
  • Perform detailed quantitative analyses using mTAB, PAI CSQ, PIN, Polk and other available resources to support strategic recommendations
  • Work closely with Calty and/or TMC design during concept development to ensure concept designs resonate with customers
  • Develop and deliver compelling and creative presentations for TMC and TMNA executives
  • Lead product portfolio projects from a holistic perspective across models and brands and with consideration for global alignment that will have measurable impact on company progress
  • Conduct price and volume / cannibalization analysis that will clarify business potential
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (CS&P, Product Planning, Finance, Engineering and Sales / Marketing etc) on development of strong business cases for future products

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the automotive industry -> competitive product analysis, market dynamics and line-up strategy development
  • Recent and extensive experience serving as the subject matter expert targeting customers through research and analysis, report development and presentations
  • Extensive experience serving as the primary resource identifying, proposing, and leading new strategies/ initiatives that are critical to customer values and needs and future automotive market trends
  • Experience providing significant influence upon the structure and development quantitative analytical tools and presentations; served as a key leader in extending critical technical capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating on cross-departmental projects where the results are usually visible/ impactful
  • Mentoring/training to APS analyst team members

  • MBA or other advanced degree
