This position is based in Plano, TX with a hybrid mix of some in-office time and some remote work.

Who We're Looking For

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Cloud Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated person to fill a role as a Cloud Engineering Technical Lead

The primary responsibility of this role is to be the principal expert for the cloud engineering team to provide oversight for day-to-day Governance activities and maintain Toyota's cloud standards.

What you'll be doing

Cloud Governance:

  • Be the golden standard for our Cloud governance engineers. This position is key as this position is the most senior engineer on the team.
  • Design, implement, and maintain a modern, automated cloud environment.
  • Establish technical standards for development and operations. This includes coding standards, governance strategies, policies, and procedures for well managed cloud.
  • POC new technologies and bring in new ideas from the industry.
  • Provide thought leadership in the areas of DevOps, cloud automation, cloud operations, Finops(Tagging, cost optimization, Visibility) and talent management.
  • Contribute to the development of a streamlined cloud governance team and practice. This includes recruiting efforts, mentorship, and promoting Agile/Scrum best practices.
  • Professional documentation of design and best practices. ADRs, repo documentation, Confluence, etc.

Team, operations & supplier management

  • Partner with peer engineering teams to plan, organize, coordinate, integrate, execute and evaluate cloud projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with security and quality standards.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain cloud-based solutions and services, using various cloud platforms, tools and technologies.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation on cloud computing best practices, trends and innovations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business units, functions, customers and vendors, to understand their needs and expectations, and to deliver optimal cloud solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize cloud performance, availability, reliability and scalability.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies, products and services, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor, coach and provide direction; Motivate, influence and negotiate with others in often challenging situations/issues.

What You Bring

  • In-depth Experience and Proficiency with Python Programming and development of API
  • Experience establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of business groups (Development, Product, Enterprise Architecture, Network engineering, Security etc.,)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security controls, identity and access management (IAM), network security, encryption, logging, monitoring and data protection mechanisms
  • Build dashboards for Cost visibility, Cloud KPI, Metrics and Cloud Health Dashboard (Trusted Advisor).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD programming, scripting (Python,) and automation tools (Terraform) for cloud governance
  • Proven experience in business operations, process improvement, and governance frameworks
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Quicksight, Power BI, CUR, 3rd party tools.,) and techniques, with the ability to extract insights from large datasets to drive decision-making
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, security threats, upgrades and regulatory requirements to continually improve well managed cloud governance
  • Relevant AWS certifications is a plus
