Who we're looking for

Toyota's Corporate Payment Analysis Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Payment Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to process payments and research and support vendor inquiries related to timing of payments or resolving non-payment issues, and ad hoc exceptions. This position works closely with Procurement, Toyota Plants, Accounting & Finance Leadership, Suppliers in providing support for exceptions processing, Internal and External Auditors.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Corporate Payment Analysis, the person in this role will support the Department's objective to provide timely resolution of payment issues and processing payments.

What you'll be doing

  • Work with department leadership to execute daily payment files to ensure accurate and timely payments for suppliers for ACH, check and wire payments in CAD, MXN and USD currency's including check printing and manual wire requests.
  • Research and respond to external and internal customer inquiries related to timing of payments or resolving non-payment issues or determine the correct invoice and PO match for accurate payment processing.
  • Upload or enter invoices to SAP, clear Global Netting transitions for manufacturing entities, process voids and reissue payments in SAP.
  • Support system implementation User Acceptance Testing and IT break fix testing and enhancements.
  • Perform key SOX controls to ensure that there are no material misstatements of the financial statements.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests, providing documentation and explanation to auditors.
  • Research and resolve Ariba to SAP interface errors.

  • Work closely with PO owners and suppliers to resolve aged Ariba PO exceptions in supplier invoicing.
  • Research and support payment for supplier expedite requests.
  • Support kaizen activity related to Corporate Payment Analysis and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Work closely with other teams such as Procurement, Toyota Plants, Accounting & Finance Leadership and Suppliers to assist with troubleshooting and resolve issues.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Proven analytical, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate respectfully with fellow team members and have strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborated environment or independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel skills and ability to work with systems.

Added bonus if you have

  • Demonstrated 3+ years experience in Accounts Payable.
  • SAP Hana knowledge or experience
  • Ariba knowledge or experience.
  • Automobile industry experience

Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) experience.
