Toyota's Automated Performance & Application Department (APAD) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Automated Technician Group (ATG) Senior Technician.

The primary responsibility of this role is to; maintain equipment & vehicles used for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist Systems) / ADS (Automated Driving Systems), collect & analyze data on public roads & test tracks, and ensure a safe working environment for the Automated Technician Group.

Reporting to the Technician Manager of ATG the person in this role will support the APAD department's objective to define performance requirements and evaluate ADAS / ADS systems against those requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintain the functionality and safety of IVS test vehicles and facilities.
  • Retrofit and maintain the functionality of ADS / ADAS sensors, data acquisition systems, and other equipment.
  • Plan and execute public road ADAS / ADS performance evaluations.
  • Plan and execute closed course ADAS / ADS performance evaluations.
  • Perform ADAS and ADS function evaluations.
  • Perform first level analysis of ADAS and ADS replayed or simulated data.

What you bring

  • Associate's degree in related technology field or 3 years ADAS / ADS performance evaluation experience
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, using data acquisition and testing equipment such as Oxford RTG, ABD Robots, Vbox, Panel 4, etc.
  • Toyota MC Driver's License
  • Toyota T1/T2 Driver's License
  • Experience with public and closed course evaluations
  • Ability to travel up to 40% (domestic and international)

What you may bring

  • Vehicle dynamics evaluation experience other than ADAS/ADS.
  • Completed TBP.
  • ASE certification.
  • Experience writing small software scripts to automate evaluations
