Who we're looking for

Toyota's Environmental & Facilities Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Project Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage construction projects (expansions, renovations, greenfield, etc.) at North American production plants and other facilities.

Reporting to the Manager - Environmental & Facilities Engineering, the person in this role will support the Plant & Environmental Engineering department's objective to provide project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs for North American manufacturing plants.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop criteria (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil/structural, etc.) for design of buildings.
  • Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing plants in the areas of building design and construction, including development and maintaining of building related standards.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for industrial buildings and building related systems as technical support for local facility groups at each site, as well as for submittals during project management.
  • Provide experience in plant planning project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs.
  • Mentor engineers, construction coordinators, and other project personnel to increase their skillset in industrial construction.
  • Create Customer Satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Science (Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Architectural)
  • 5+ years of experience in building design and construction
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial buildings and building related systems
  • 5+ years of experience in project management of industrial construction projects with value of $20M+
  • Intermediate level experience in AutoCAD

What you may bring

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License or Registered Architect (RA)
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher)
  • 5+ years of experience in office renovation projects
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial structural steel systems
  • 5+ years of experience in large scale civil installations
