About The Team
The Trust & Safety Policy team develops, reviews, and implements the policies and processes that underpin our Community Guidelines to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our users and content creators to enjoy and express themselves. As a LIVE Policy Manager, you will develop policies and manage content intervention strategies for TikTok LIVE. You will work closely with a variety of internal partners, including members of the Trust & Safety, Product, Engineering, and Legal teams.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Trust & Safety Policy Manager to join our Core Video team. This critical role will involve the development of Trust & Safety enforcement strategies and core workflows for the Video and Photo features. The role will own and oversee the application of policies, translating high-level policy principles into actionable enforcement approaches and operational workflows.
You will be a key player in identifying areas for policy improvement, leveraging data and metrics to drive strategic policy adjustments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build new processes and tools to ensure effective and efficient policy enforcement. You will also be expected to identify and anticipate content safety risks to support launches of new models, processes, and products, partnering with product, engineering, operations, and legal teams to enhance our safety approaches.

Responsibilities:
- Own and oversee the implementation and enforcement of intervention strategies in TikTok Video and Photo;
- Collaborate with the rest of the Video Policy team to identify areas for policy improvement based on operational insights, data analysis, and emerging trends;
- Drive operational efficiency and improve the effectiveness policy application by:
- Leading projects that leverage data and metrics to inform policy changes and drive improvements to moderation systems;
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency;
- Incubating new programs to drive strategic alignment, improve operational efficiency, and ensure consistent policy application, with a focus on scaling these initiatives to the Regional High Harm team and the broader Video Policy team.
- Provide policy input and insights to increase efficacy and precision of Trust and Safety's auto moderation infrastructure;
- Co-own the development and maintenance of critical enforcement infrastructure and tooling;
- Collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams including Policy, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Research.
- Navigate complex stakeholder relationships to build consensus and drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, Risk Management, or a related field with people management experience
- Strong understanding of online safety issues and best practices
- Deep understanding and interest in Trust and Safety policy issues, and enforcement ecosystems that impact online safety
- Proven ability to analyze data and use insights to inform policy decisions;
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong cross-cultural relationships with diverse stakeholders, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, and resolve conflicts effectively

Preferred Qualifications:
- Confident self-starter with excellent judgment, and can balance multiple trade-offs to develop principled, enforceable, and defensible policies and strategies
- Persuasive oral and written communication, with the ability to translate complex challenges into simple, concise, and clear language to persuade cross-functional partners and leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often uncertain environment
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is a plus
- Experience with AI/ML and LLMs is a plus
- Fluency in Mandarin will be a plus to communicate with mandarin speaking stakeholders
