The Vertical Strategist will have deep knowledge of the Content & Services Vertical across online advertising, consumption, and measurement. You'll use your influence and relationship-building skills to discover the business needs of our Growth & Small to Medium Business verticals and develop and execute strategies to shape how new and existing businesses grow. You anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the trends that shape the business vertical, and clearly articulate how TikTok can grow their businesses.
Responsibilities
- Create the POV and value proposition for the Content & Services industry, in partnership with Marketing Science, Data Science, Sales, Product and Global Industry Strategist teams, to be utilized by the sales teams to inform vertical GTM strategies.
- GTM defined as: creative solutions, playbooks, comms/email campaigns, Content Solutions joint strategies, Strategic Value Packages, Research enablement, media planning, case studies, thought leadership
- Identify winning strategies and scale the insights throughout the Content & Services vertical to provide maximum business value to clients to drive continuous consumption of advertising.
- Utilizing deep knowledge of the media buying cycle and media industry to help identify opportunities and anticipate barriers for the Content & Services Vertical.
- Partner with Marketing Solutions to inform narratives and sales materials as well as client engagement strategies.
- Update broader Marketing team, Sales and Product teams on the latest headwinds, tailwinds and trends in the industry to inspire new ways of driving consumption for clients; distill trends and insights to have actionable next steps for each vertical.
- Bring a consultative approach that will align around a customer-centric methodology.
- Consult with Product Team to help shape product development in support of client needs.
- Partner with Marketing Solutions, Campaigns and Upper Funnel Teams to scale vertical intelligence across Marketing, Product, Growth and Sales teams.
- Be the industry expert within your vertical sales pod.
- Deep understanding of how Growth and SMB Content & Services clients manage accounts operate, and share/educate the sales pod to drive the business.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Content & Services Vertical at a brand and/or agency.
- Analytical and able to drive strong insights to understand the trends in the market and within industry verticals
- A deep understanding of the Small, Medium & Mid-market Growth Content & Services industries and products, specifically going deep into at least 1 grouping below: NC1: Education, Insurance, Real Estate, Auto, Jobs, NPO & Finserv, Entertainment, Dating, Apps. NC2: Food & Beverage, Dining, Travel, Tech, Sports.
- Outstanding executive presence and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to engage C-level executives.
- Storyteller with experience communicating the benefit of marketing opportunities to clients.
- Experience building plans that influence marketing decision-makers at brands and agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert in digital advertising
- Must be able to foster executive relationships with genuine interest in customers' success.
- Knowledge of agency ecosystem, digital and traditional.
- Must be comfortable with travel.
- Demonstrated experience using advertising data to craft media strategy.
