Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Design Leader to lead our design team and drive the development of innovative business products for TikTok Shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business product design, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive design impact. As a Design Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the design vision and strategy for our seller tooling products, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Provide guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with TikTok Shop's business objectives. Collaborate with product teams, engineer teams, and other stakeholders to define design goals and deliver high quality solutions.
- Oversee the design process from concept to final delivery, ensuring the team's operation efficiency, balancing priorities and resources effectively.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles, ensuring that user needs and experiences are at the forefront of all design decisions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure cohesive and integrated product experiences. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments.
- Maintain high standards of design quality, consistency, and attention to pixel detail. Review and critique design work, providing constructive feedback to ensure the highest level of design crafting.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging new technologies, and best practices in product design. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve design processes and methodologies.
- Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements, present design concepts, and gain buy-in for design initiatives. Communicate design vision and progress effectively to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful design projects in business product context and a deep understanding of design principles.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Experience with user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet business expectations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Passion for innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement in design practices.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $164160 - $303012 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
